for both short term and long term use google adwords or/and yahoo search marketing or/and other pay-per-click advertising programs. Just calculate well the budget.
if you sell your books at $20 (and let say they cost $10) then the maximum you can afford to spend on ads has to be $10 on ads per book sold. selling e-books is a tough job
Also, you can start promoting your e-books through other social networking sites like Facebook. from my experience (blog writer on how to advertise websites through facebook) can tell you that it is a good source of traffic.
