How bad are huge ebook files for your computers internal memory?
I have considered buying a lot of ebooks (like 10,000 ebooks and software) off ebay to resell but I’m afraid I will mess up my computer by storing too much. I have a perfectly functioning 2001 hp pc. My husband used to downlaod a bunch of stuff and then have to redo the whole computer to make it run better. He’s no longer in the picture and I’m afraid that if I mess up my computer I will simply be without one.
So, the question is will I be risking a lot to do this or are the files really no big deal?
Thanks so much:)

Not a big deal as long as you don’t fill up your hard drive! Storing e-books will not affect your system’s memory (RAM).

Items like ebooks, when purchased on CD from Ebay, are typically in .PDF format and can be launched directly from the CD, and therefore you would not have to worry about those filling up your hard drive. If you are planning on selling these items by using your computer as a server, though, disk space is only going to be one of your considerations. Depending on how you plan to sell these items, you may want to look into a hosted web service such as 1and1 internet as a location for a business web site.
